Beverly Hills Jiu-Jitsu Club had another successful showing for the 2008 Pan Am Jiu-Jitsu Championship by bringing home 8 medals.
We would like to congratulate everyone that trained hard and competed for this event also to those that showed their support by helping
our fighters train and cheer them on at the event. Let's give a big round of applause for the competitors that placed.

Beverly Hills Jiu-Jitsu Club instructor Marc Kompaneyets presents {Q^]~Z at the Verve Gallery starting March 29th thru April 26th. Marc is the first black belt student of BHJJC and Marcus Vinicius and also holds a
2nd degree blackbelt in judo. He teaches our grappling(No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu) class every Thursday from 8:30pm-9:30pm.
The opening reception will be hosted Saturday, March 29th from 7pm to 11pm.

Registration is now closed for the 2008 Pan Jiu-Jitsu Championships.

Final Training Stretch for 2008 Pans! Register and Train Your Ass Off! |

The 2008 Pan Jiu-Jitsu Championships are less then a month away. In February increased our sparring rounds from 10mins, 12mins, and 15mins we want to ensure that you
can go the distance and have the stamina to finish strongly. This month we will be training tournament styles. Starting from the feet, with 5 minute rounds and the IBJJF point system.
Sign up by March 15 to get the early registration under "Beverly Hills Jiu-Jitsu Club" and notify marcus. This month is dedicated to making sure all fighters are
ready by knowing all the rules, point systems and honing their jiu-jitsu.

BHJJC would like to congratulate Octavio and Rebecca Couto for getting married! They were wedded on February 29 by Master Marcus Vinicius. Both Octavio and Rebecca have been part of the
Beverly Hills Jiu-Jitsu family for many years. Octavio is one of the master black belt instructor and Rebecca is an experienced blue belt.

The 2008 Pan Jiu-Jitsu Championship is less then 2 months away. This year it will be held at the Cal State
Dominguez Hills Gym in Carson CA. The Pan's will run for 3 days starting Friday March 28th. Friday is for white belts only. Blue belt
and above will be held Saturday and Sunday.
The next 2 months at BHJJC, our jiu-jitsu class will be training specifically for this tournament. In February we will increase our sparring rounds up to 15
minutes to make sure you are in top fight condition. March we will be doing pratice rounds that will include scoring and a referee to make sure you know how
to play by the rules and completely understand the points system. We pride ourselves in breeding champions and we make sure our team is fully confident and prepared.

What good is all your flashy chokes and monster take downs if you don't train in a gym with style? Master Marcus decided it was time
to do some renovation in the house. This weekend we upgraded several parts of the gym. The bathrooms and locker room have been repainted and we also made more
room for our female students!

BHJJC Welcomes Herman Binek From Germany |

Beverly Hills Jiu-Jitsu & MMA welcomes a new student and Boxing Instructor, Herman Binek.
Herman recently came to the US from Germany to further his boxing career and to transition into mixed martial arts.
He currently holds a perfect professional boxing record of 7-0. 6 of his wins is by KO. He will be teaching boxing every Monday
and wednesday night. He is also training brazilian jiu-jitsu throughout the week so stop on by and roll on the mat
with Herman Binek.

Blue Belt Champs Go Purple |

Bryce Karasawa and Michi San both won the gold at the 1st Worlds No-Gi Championship in each of their weight division.
Their years of training and commitment to the sport of brazilian jiu-jitsu has paid off. As part of their reward Master Marcus has taken their blue belts
and gave Bryce and Michi the well respected purple belt. Congradulations to Bryce and Michi!
